My life: November 04, 2012 - December 08, 2012

Alright, detail oriented peeps, who really like to track my every movement.  Here's my calender for the first half of my Frozen Embryo Transfer cycle.  Doesn't look that much less complicated than my IVF calender, but let me tell you that I will not miss those Menopur and Follistim shots, nor the slowly growing ovaries of doom that went along with them.  I also would not have missed the loopy Lupron that makes me sleepless and insane, but alas, apparently my stomach will not be spared those nightly injections this time around.

  1. Oh dear, and I feel bad about the Letrazole and HGC shot!! Not quite as bad this month symptom-wise, so so many hot flashes!

Why do they put you on birth control?

    1. The birth control has two purposes - to control the cycle (last time I took it for only 14 days) for the start date that works for us & also to prevent cysts that often occur when you ovulate, and which would prevent us from doing the transfer.

Oy. Sorry about the hot flashes! That's a symptom I don't tend to get (knock on wood), but I can imagine it's not fun. We are pretty sure I was on clomid when I did the study, so I never had letrozole, but I hear it's not as bad. Goooood luck, love!!

  2. Hi, just found your blog...and quite a lot we have in common! I was in the Amigos study too- but through Stanford not UCSF. And now I am going to UCSF for my 1st IVF with Dr. Tran. You never know who you're going to find blogging, huh? Good luck with cycle ahead!

    1. Oh wow! Such similar sagas.... Good luck to you too! Perhaps I'll see you in the waiting room? Where are you in your cycle? I'll go check out your blog, actually!

  3. :) You know, Sharon, I secretly look at your blog every day. Sorry I don't comment more often. This post made me smile, for some reason... I suppose it's the fact that you are so darned open and honest about everything in this journey of yours and Ian's, and for that I am in some kind of strange awe of you. I love that I know that sometime between Nov 12 and 15, you should be getting your period. It's weird that I love knowing this, but I do. :)

    Busting to see you soon!

  6. Hi - I'm just now figuring out the community of IF bloggers after two years of trying to conceive (I don't know what's wrong with me). I have pretty much the exact calendar as you, except we had to use donor eggs. They found a cyst/follicle producing estrogen, so I'm doing another week on the Lupron to quiet it - we'll find out on Tuesday whether that worked or not.

I'm excited to finally be starting the IVF process, but - and this is the bad side of reading so many blogs - I also know so much can go wrong. I'll be thinking of you. It's nice to know that someone, somewhere, has her feet up in the stirrups and instruments up her vagina, thinking, "just give me my baby!" just as I'm doing the same thing.
